URGENT REQUEST FOR MUTUAL AID:

— by @TheRavvyn, 2025-11-17T20:37:21.930Z

URGENT REQUEST FOR MUTUAL AID: We are two families who came together after escaping domestic violence earlier this year. Each of us made the difficult decision to leave unsafe situations in order to protect our children and build a more stable future. Though the journey has been challenging, we are deeply grateful for every bit of help, kindness, and encouragement that has carried us this far.

Our blended family includes one mother, her loving transgender partner, and several children with disabilities, as well as another mother with her twin toddlers. Many of us live with disabilities ourselves, but we’ve learned to navigate life with creativity, humor, and perseverance. Despite the obstacles, we remain committed to moving forward with hope and purpose.

Right now, we’re staying in a long-term family shelter. While we appreciate having a roof over our heads, the environment has become increasingly unsafe and unhealthy, especially for our children. We’ve worked hard to access every resource available, but options have been limited due to funding cuts and discrimination.

We now have a real opportunity to take the next step: an RV available for a very low cost. This would allow our families to move into a safe, private, and stable space of our own while we wait for our Section 8 vouchers and permanent housing placements. The ongoing costs are within our current income — we simply need help covering the initial expenses to get set up. Together, we’re creating a support network that allows both families to share childcare, resources, and part-time work. Our long-term vision is to build a small, cooperative community of women, children, and allies — a place rooted in mutual aid, safety, and shared stability. We believe that by lifting one another up, we can break cycles of hardship and help others do the same.

Long-Term Goals:

Every bit of help — financial support, donated supplies, community connections, or even kind words — brings us closer to safety, stability, and healing. Your support doesn’t just help two families find a home; it helps us create a foundation of strength, dignity, and hope for the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to hear our story and for any help you can offer. We are truly grateful for the compassion and generosity that make it possible for families like ours to rebuild, grow, and thrive together.
