🚨 Artist Beware: Wasabii Kun / @Mii_andrean 🚨

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a professional Artist Beware post about an unfortunate commission experience I had with an artist who formerly went by Wasabii Kun on Facebook. They’ve since deleted that account entirely and are now operating under the Twitter handle @Mii_andrean, where they are still actively accepting commissions.

⸻

📌 Summary of Experience: • On March 28, 2024, I commissioned a full-body character illustration from Wasabii Kun. • We agreed on a price of $83, which I paid via PayPal Friends & Family, as requested. • The artist gave me three different PayPal addresses, claiming account issues. I was eventually told to send the payment to paypee.id@gmail.com. • I submitted full references and was told work would begin right away. I was also told there would be no revision limit, and that communication would be smooth.

⸻

📉 What Went Wrong: • Despite regular, polite check-ins from me, I never received a sketch, update, or any sign of progress. • Over several weeks, I was met with repeated delays and excuses (illness, grief, vet visits, medical appointments, rent issues, etc.). • When I asked for a refund, they agreed but said they could only pay it back in $10 monthly installments due to financial hardship. • They shared medical screenshots in response, and while I sympathized, the fact remains: I received no art and no refund. • After delaying and offering no resolution, the artist deleted their Facebook account entirely and disappeared from the original platform where the transaction occurred.

⸻

🚩 Major Concerns: • Artist insisted on PayPal Friends & Family—removing all buyer protection. • Used multiple payment emails, which raises major red flags. • Despite their ongoing issues, they are still taking new commissions under a new identity (@Mii_andrean on Twitter). • I have received zero art and zero refund to date.

⸻

🛑 Final Thoughts:

This is not a callout for harassment—it’s a warning. I remained patient, respectful, and understanding through all communications. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, it’s clear they were not prepared to handle commissions responsibly.

I understand that people go through things—illness, emergencies, and stress are part of life—but if you’re not in a position to deliver paid work, you should not be accepting commissions. It’s not fair to keep someone’s money with no work delivered and no follow-through on refunds.

Please be careful when commissioning @Mii_andrean, and always use Goods & Services on PayPal to protect yourself. Don’t send money via F&F for digital art.

If you want to see screenshots or ask questions, feel free to reach out. I can absolutely attach those, thanks.
